Well, okay, not at Good Earth Cafe, where I'm now enjoying a pint of bitter. But that's not a long-term strategy for posting, or seeing/responding to reader comments. Anyone know how to get around an ISP block? If it were my own network, I'd just use Google's OpenDNS, but I can't (or should not) reconfig the network for the entire House. So.

Expect updates to be on AO3 in a timely fashion, with FFN lagging.

Oh, and haha, something changed deep in the bowels of LJ, and it now denies me access if I attempt to login from inside my VPN. *rolls eyes*

What do they have against fanfiction?

dunno. I'd never been on Shaw networks before. It's irritating, to say the least, because in the absence of little bursts of pleasure at insightful comments from stellar readers, it was still kinda fun tracking the statistics.

I once worked in an office with an overactive porn filter. As a result, I could not access the website of the Uni of Essex. Because of 'sex', that's right.

Just went to FFN and looks like you've got a lovely comment there. I won't spoil you, though... On the other hand, your sniggering at AO3 is positively cruel. Twice! Am I right? Does Snape sell paperclips in Slough?

Uni of Essex

*rolls on floor, laughing*

*Stops, considers 'paperclips'. Snickers some more. Toddles off to write the bit wherein we discover What Snapey Is[n't?] Doing*

Scunthorpe and Penistone have real problems on some database systems with overactive 'porn' filters...

Well, what else can it be?!

Snapey clearly has no use for his potions notes anymore. Has to be the paperclips. Possibly advertising. :)

Potions are clearly passé, but paperclips are mere tools -- now, consider instead the majesty of a swingline stapler: that's a marvel of engineering, all subtle science and exact art.

Oh it is majestic all right. :) On the other hand, paperclips are many, varied, ever-changing and eternal!

Oh my! And there are even paperclips for the discerning Slytherin, in tasteful matte black:

:))) See? Snapey must be selling them. Ok, maybe he designs them. A snake bite does things to a person, I am sure, but they are not likely to get a personality transplant, so I suspect Snape the Salesman is a bit too much.

So that's settled then. I am looking forward to finding out what he really does though. Surely office supplies are just a cover. Like that teaching job but with more stationery and fewer annoying children?

I just wish there were more readers at AO3. It's the better platform, all the way 'round, but the community is much smaller.
